STACY NELSON - THE TRASH LASSIE
Stacy Nelson is an Art Director, Decorator and Budget Design Specialist for television, film, and special events. She is a best selling author of “10 On-Set Secrets”, style guide series on fast, affordable decorating and easy entertaining. Stacy became known on-set as the decorating TRASH LASSIE for her ability to deliver exceptional style using low cost materials, which looked to others to be boxes of trash. She is often referred to as the “Master of Faster” for her ability to quickly and beautifully transform any environment or spontaneously produce a spectacular party. Stacy and her design team have pioneered inventive ways to decorate using inexpensive materials, customizing cookie cutter decor, repurposing key items, and developing practical solutions to large decorating challenges.
In 2004 Stacy left the entertainment industry to devote life to her aging parents. During those days as a caretaker a deeper purpose to her creative abilities evolved. She learned first hand the struggles of families who wish to create special celebrations and remembrances for loved ones, but are bound by lack of funds, time restraints, and resources. She began to adapt the skills she mastered on low budget productions and develop common sense, affordable solutions to every day presentation challenges.
In 2008 Stacy returned to her career as an Art Director and Production Stylist and started TRASH LASSIES with three goals in mind; to help busy moms and struggling families by revealing her on-set short cuts to home decorating, party planning, and holiday celebrations, to teach money saving solutions through expert shopping advice, unique repurposing, and plan ahead household tips, and to provide SPIRIT LIFTS, free makeovers for those in need by salvaging and re-purposing production scenery, props, and building materials.
With extensive in-depth experience in television, film and live-to-tape special events, Stacy holds 92 hours of prime time program credit, has contributed to two Olympic opening ceremonies, and designed and dressed countless awards shows, special events and network specials. She appears nation wide on morning shows and radio programs speaking, demonstrating, and revealing inside tips & tricks that always deliver A-LIST STYLE ON LOW BUDGET DOLLARS.
