...The wedding in its entirety was a "Reception". Lori and Scott walked into the Terrace Room for their wedding as everyone was partying and enjoying themselves. They then had the "official" wedding and once over, it was back to dancing all night long.

The Courtship As Told by Lori:
I first met Scott when my daughter had a report due the next day at St. Elizabeth and we had to make an emergency run to Webster's stationery department to pick up paper and a report cover. He helped us find what we needed. Whenever I would stop at Webster's for anything, he seemed to be around wherever I was. Then, in 1995, I was looking for a job close to home, and someone who worked at Webster's told me there was an opening in their business office.
I applied, and Scott called me and made an appointment to interview me. I was very intrigued by his deep voice, and thought that he was quite attractive - it was hard to pay attention to anything else! I realized that this was the guy who was always nearby when I came into the store, and Scott admitted to me much later that he would scan the cameras in the office and if he saw me there, he'd hurry over to whatever department I was in.
Needless to say, I got the job, and soon after, was spending my free time at work hanging out with Scott. This was an interesting development, because both he and I were already in relationships with other people. We broke up with our respective significant others, and all hell broke loose at Webster's. We were a scandal of the greatest degree, and I was called into Bill Webster's office to face the inquisition, but I wouldn't back down and neither would Scott. He asked me to marry him shortly after that, and brought the engagement/wedding ring set he'd bought me to work to show his dad. I clearly remember him showing the set to Phyllis, Bill's late second wife, who sniffed and told me,
"well, at least people will know that you're married".
We set the date for the wedding, and have never looked back. They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and I believe that's true. We've faced family opposition to our relationship, open hostility from some, and we remain married 16 years later. This is not the fairy-tale dream wedding everyone yearns for - his family had mixed feelings, and my family was gone - but it was beautiful, just the same. We set the wedding up so that our wedding party (my daughter and Scott's best friend, Brian) and then Scott and I, walked into the party to Reba McIntyre's "Let's Give 'Em Something To Talk About". There was no formal first dance with Scott and I, but I did dance with my daughter to the Temptations' "My Girl".
Lori & Scott were married on December 27, 1997 at the Pasadena hotel formerly known as the Holiday Inn and today is the Sheraton.
It was held in the Terrace Room with 150 guests costing approximately $25,000. They had one bridesmaid (Lori's daughter) and one best man.
They took Pre-Wedding photos at Ronnie's historic gas station before it was dismantled.

Lori's daughter, Parisa Tajdoulatshahi, was her bridesmaid and wore a sleeveless green gown with elbow length gloves.
Scott's best man is Brian Larson, long time friend and Altadenan.
Lori's dress was a simple silk Jessica McClintock, and the fur she was wearing was her late mother's.
MARRIAGE WISDOM:
Our advice to others would be: follow your heart, and don't let what others think sway you.

2014 Webster's Fine Stationary is now HOOPLA! An Emporium of Good Things.
A little history of Webster's: In 1926, Scott's granddad founded Webster's Pharmacy, and a couple years later, bought the liquor store next door. He got through Prohibition by selling medicinal liquor. Scott's dad, Bill Webster, inherited the stores with his 3 siblings after both parents passed away. Eventually, Bill acquired the majority of shares of the family corporation, and began buying up the stores next to his as they became vacant. In the early 1960s, he interconnected the string of stores, making one large department store. In 2007, the corporation decided to sell the departments off to family members as stand alone stores, to raise money for the pharmacy. That move doomed the 87-year old family business, and, at the end of 2013, the entire complex was sold to an investment group. All businesses except the pharmacy, no longer owned by Websters, either relocated or closed.
Webster's Fine Stationers moved to 2591 Fair Oaks Ave., in Altadena, and is taking the opportunity the move afforded them to re-brand their store. Now known as Hoopla! An Emporium Of Good Things, the former office supply retailer is morphing into a
community-centered boutique catering to lovers of books, art, handcrafted jewelry, gourmet foods, and fine stationery. Hosting book signings with their large cadre of local authors and providing interesting seminars on various business topics, like grant writing for non-profit businesses and the use of social media for business, are Hoopla's specialty.
