'LIGHTING' in your budget and design!
When planning your budget for a wedding or event take notice in looking at your wedding/event what areas may need special lighting. It's often easy to forget that line item but simple lighting can help make a WOW! moment. Also if you book your wedding/event at a venue, you may 'think' they have special lighting when they don't. So if you don't consider it in your budget at the onset of your planning, you could be adding extra costs later or have a 'failed' moment.
According to Bernie Gaps, President of Absolutely Fabulous Events & Productions of Costa Mesa, California:
"Many times, clients will select a great centerpiece and then fail to light it properly. Below are two samples of great floral with and without lighting. Bernie's company offers battery-powered LED pin spots that are MAGNETIC so they can usually find places to attach in every ceiling. Also, they don't require electric power so there are no exposed electric cords visible on the ceiling. Their labor costs are much less and often you don't have to involve "in-house" A/V companies because you don't require rigging points. Finally, they are typically lighting, straight down from the ceiling, so you don't have the effect of lighting from the sides of the room and blinding half your guests that are opposite from the lights."

Another idea to consider in LIGHTING is to use tools where you combine lighting with decor as is with AirDD located in Van Nuys, CA. AirDD is a WSWS vendor so click on the button to see more photos and information.
Wouldn't this make a unqiue and fun walkway for the guests to arrive and the bride to walk down the aisle.
Here's some photos on creating color with a huge WOW factor or using the decor to help with lighting. They are also able to create 'walls' to help separate activities or create 'separate room space' creatively where their could a division with everyone still all in the same area. The ideas are endless and the creative people at AirDD has a lot of ideas to share.
