Kimi of The Kimi Collective explains how she creates CALLIGRAPHY LETTERPRESS INVITATIONS:
For letterpress invitations, I work carefully with the bride to create a proof of the invitation suite that they love. We talk about color scheme, theme, layout, calligraphy styles, typeset, etc. Once approved, I send the invitation suite PDF to be printed by a local print company. The printer sends out to get a plate created of each piece. Once they receive the plate, the plate is placed into the machine and the ink + the plate is pressed into the paper to create an impression.
For envelopes, I either purchase the envelopes for the bride, or the bride can supply them herself. I just ask for 15% extra just in case (in the case of human error, add-on addresses, etc.). I have several styles that they can choose from - styles range from modern calligraphy to brush, and they can also choose the color ink they’d like as well!
