Jaime & Benjamin, The Benson Hotel, Portland
by Nicola Borland, Photographer
Jaime is my lobster. We speak almost every day. Mostly we talk about our dogs. What did they destroy today, how many times did we have to clean something up!!! All that fun fur parent stuff. It does actually feel weird to not just call for a quick check in each day. She’s also been a great help in my business, always playing the voice of reason and most importantly spell checker extraordinaire! {Sorry if I’ve messed anything up here, Jaime!}
So, when I was asked to be there and photograph such an important day in her life, I was of course honored, and a little nervous! There is always a huge pressure on a photographer on the wedding day. If the baker messes up the cake, by that stage in the day, people just usually go, “oh well”! But if the photography gets messed up, there is a little more of a, let’s say… situation. So doing that for a friend is the same as lending money to a friend, they say you should never do it. But then who can I trust to photograph my friends? And being at a wedding a not shooting is just plain weird! {Just like Portland!}
Jaime and Benjamin {BJ} were so relaxed about the day, and the Portland weather held out for us, to make this an easy day, and fun wedding for me. Plus I got to put down my camera and dance the night away, so that was super fun too. Here are the highlights from the day.
