Getting married in Italy:
an Italian Style real wedding in northern Italy with a touch of...green apple!
by Serena Colavita, White Satin Wedding Show Correspondent, Italy
I'm going to tell you a romantic wedding on Lake of Endine, a small lake next to the famous and historical Bergamo town, in North Italy.
Elisa and Samuele said their YES for life in a beautiful ancient Church inside a Sanctuary, named "Santuario della Madonna dei Campi", built in the twelfth century, surrounded by green lawns and cultivated fields and with a large park inside, a botanical garden of about 170 plants (the park is proudly maintained by a group of volunteers named "Friends of the Sanctuary"). To the north an incredible view of the Upper Town: Bergamo.
Bergamo is one of the most important art cities of Lombardy Region; known for its main feature, two cities in one, is divided into Upper Town and Lower Town. The Upper Town, built in the Middle Ages is still enclosed within the Venetian walls and contains important historical remains. A city of rare beauty you can reach by car or by a funicular enjoying a spectacular view. A greater number of tourists are visiting Bergamo every year, also because of one of the most important international airports in Northern Italy: Milan-Bergamo Airport Orio al Serio.
The Lake d'Endine is a few kilometers from the city of Bergamo and it's a place with a magical and amazing atmosphere that transmits serenity to visitors.
In a beautiful sunny day Elisa and Samuele realized their wedding dream and with a very special guest: their loved dog named Happy. The puppy was the king of the party and kissed everyone ...oops!...licked every guest!!
Bride and Groom liked "to paint" their wedding with a touch of fresh green: for the Ceremony setting they had flowers and apples, inside the Church we had a delicious perfume!
The bride wore stylish green suede shoes and her bouquet was made with white and green flowers sorrounded by italian valuable lace, in Italy we have a great tradition about handmade lace.
For the "guest book" the guests could leave a message, a personal wish, to the couple writing on green small sheets and the Candy station was rich of different tastes (but green colour!) "italian confetti" (sugared almonds); as wedding favor the guests received a nice small green bag with a bee...because inside they found a delicious honey pot!
Bride and groom like very much herbal teas so their Wedding Plan was created following this bucolic theme: each table had a name and a the colour of a different herbal tea.
The Lake of Endine was the romantic frame of this Italian Style wedding where Elisa and Samuele have lived their fairy tale until late at night.
